Affiliate marketers have long ago identified the “holy trinity” of topics to write about for the most returns: health, wealth, and love. These are pretty “safe” topics to cover but making a living off them might prove tricky, given that these all are niches with a lot of competition. They may be the easiest to cover, given the massive quantity of information out there to rely on, though.
Current topics
There are quite a few topics out there that are covered extensively by the mainstream media but lack the opinion of the independent blogger. Immigration is one of them. It is a topic that shows up almost daily in the media, with Europe seeing the biggest influx of immigrants in ages and the caravan of migrants going from Honduras to the US to seek asylum, this topic will probably be one that’s discussed intensely in the coming year.
There is always more room for discussion about topics like women’s rights, LGBTQ+ rights, gun rights, and gun control, racism, and politics in general. These are topics about which many have their opinions but sometimes they have trouble finding an outlet to express them.
The thing you actually know about
Whatever your niche of choice might be, make sure it’s one that you know about – and that you’re passionate about. If your favorite topic is video gaming, eSports or Raspberry Pi, don’t start a blog about home improvement, fitness tips, and recipes only to make an extra buck. Write about the thing you’re most familiar with so that you won’t hurt your credibility and write seriously, and the like-minded readers will eventually come.
